Where heritage
meets modernism
Lincoln's Inn is located in the heart of London, in the historical and intriguing area of Holborn, which is particularly noted for it's links to the legal profession. The exact origins of Lincoln's Inn is not fully known, but the formal records go back to 1422. To this day, Lincoln's Inn is still a thriving society of barristers, situated on a large estate of historic buildings which includes contemporary facilities and a tranquil garden.
Between 2016 and 2019, MICA Architects performed a restoration of Lincoln's Inn, that compromised heritage-led conservation and restoration with bold contemporary additions, to the oldest working library in London. The East Terrace development, is a new education suite beneath the existing east terrace of the Great Hall, which provides high quality advocacy training.
Classic pieces in stainless steel from the Knud Holscher collection, creates the finishing touches within this historical building. The simplicity and classicism of the products, is perfectly compatible with the modern additions to the space.
