d line wins GAI Specification Award 2022
The GAI Specification Awards 2022 celebrated the best projects and products from across the architectural ironmongery sector. We are thrilled to announce that d line, together with Marks Barfield Architects, won the Public Health & Education Award for the stunning Cambridge Central Mosque project.
The Cambridge Central Mosque is intended to be a cultural and spiritual centre, that announces Islam's presence in Cambridge. The ironmongery chosen for this project, was real satin brass products from the Knud Holscher collection, an impeccable and enduring choice for the mosque. This was an incredibly technical specification, where time was indeed taken to ensure that d line met the brief set by Marks Barfield Architects and the client. The brief was not only met, but also went beyond expectations.
“This was a project where the ironmongery selected fitted the brief exceedingly well – using satin brass in front of house and stainless steel as back of house finish. Ironmongery was carefully selected and concealed hinges where necessary. Satin brass finish was very well matched throughout the project on all relevant items including the handrail brackets.” - Judges comments
The Fat collection by Tom Dixon didn't go unnoticed either. The series received the Highly Commended honour within the Product Design & Innovation category.
