A new metallic hue for our Qtoo collection
We're building on the successful launch of our Qtoo Collection of taps and shower fixtures, with stunning PVD metal finishes now available for a selected portfolio of the pieces. With these same finishes applicable to our sanitary ware by Knud Holscher, this means a more comprehensive range across the d line bathroom category.
Building on a shared aesthetic
The Qtoo Collection was launched in 2020, to further leverage our ability to achieve complete cohesion within architect-designed spaces. The collection brings to the market 100% recyclable taps and shower fixtures, which share d line’s precision-designed, minimalist aesthetic.
Qtoo also makes use of marine-quality, non-corrosive AISI 316 stainless steel favoured by us, utilising steel for both its internal and external parts. The material is so durable, it’s guaranteed for 10 years. The Qtoo pieces have thus-far been available in brushed and polished stainless steel, as well as matt black.
An innovative application
The physical vapour deposition (PVD) technique is applied to stainless steel, and results in an extremely high-quality, high-durability finish that can withstand the humid conditions and harsh cleaning products associated with bathroom spaces.
A unique characteristic of PVD, is that it takes on the finish of the type of stainless steel it’s applied to. So, for the Qtoo Collection, the signature d line satin finish is preserved in the PVD metal finish, allowing craftsmanship to remain at the foreground. And when the PVD is applied to polished pieces, the coating morphs from matt to a bold, high-shine statement.
As a result of this new possibility for the Qtoo Collection, its taps and shower fixtures are now available in copper, charcoal and brass – both satin and polished.
Greater commonality
With the application of the existing d line PVD metal finishes to the Qtoo Collection, comes even greater cohesion across our total line – and greater choice. Now our existing sanitary ware collection by Knud Holscher, as well as levers, door pulls and hooks by Holscher, can be combined with Qtoo taps and shower fixtures in a shared palette of statement metals.
Tried and tested
Our collections have long been created in premium metals such as brass and our signature AISI 316 stainless steel, but we began working with PVD in 2018 to expand both the aesthetic possibilities and hygiene credentials of its sanitary ware. At the same time, we decided also to make PVD available for architectural ironmongery such as door levers, in order to provide total solutions for designed spaces.
